Hi guys! I know we have all heard about the many up-and-coming beauty trends that are happening right now, and if you haven’t heard about them then you are not on Instagram as much as I am (which I should probably be more like you then LOL). If you are like me and have heard of them then… can we talk about the crazy eye brows that are popping up on insta! I mean power to you if you are someone that has tried them but honestly I have yet to meet someone that actually rocks them in public! Anyway, today I’m going to talk about the trends that are on the more low profile side of the spectrum compared to the crazy eyebrows (again though, power to you if you do them). Now, truthfully I’m not someone that’s extremely adventurous in my beauty regime but these are the few trends I have put effort into trying and personally think they are worth having a conversation about.

The first trend is micellar water, now when I first heard about this I was honestly so confused about what the word micellar even was and truthfully, I need to do some added research on it because i’m still not 100% sure what it means. However, I’m on the trend and I am living for it! I’ll be transparent with you guys, I haven’t noticed a miraculous change in how my skin looks but I have noticed the nasty amount of makeup and dirt that comes off onto the cotton round when I swipe it over my face after washing it. Which is totally gross because wouldn’t you think washing it would get the job done? Well, to my surprise it does not what so ever which is why I now swear by using micellar water on a cotton round after washing my face each night. So if you are like me and you too are completely appalled with the idea of sleeping with ANY makeup on your face then I recommend trying either micellar water or toner like the one I mentioned in my last beauty blog post!!
What I want to talk about next is that weird, blue light mask thing that people take snapchats of while wearing it (A.K.A. the queen Lauren Elizabeth) or we can call it by its more formal, but not as fun name, light therapy acne mask. I have not tried the full mask yet but I did buy a small spot one forever ago. I recently found it when I was back home from college and was breaking out really bad. Were we surprised about the break out.. sadly no but I was surprised by me picking up this zebra print light tool that I never actually had tried (I was desperate okay?!) and you know what? The freaking zebra print light thing started to work! I tried it for a few days, I think three days if we want to be exact, and noticeably saw a difference with how fast my break outs were going away. I think what the product works best with is, I’m sorry TMI… but like pimples you have already popped LOL. I brought it back to college with me and it is now something I use every morning and night. I will defiantly be trying out the Neutrogena light therapy acne mask and I will come back with an updated blog post to let you guys know if I feel amazing about the results!
Lastly, I have a common trend for you all. I’d like to talk about something that I’m just completely OBSESSED with. That something would be face masks, of course! If you disagree with me that this is a trend then agreed to disagree. I think that face masks help your face a ton, whether you need them for redness, moisture or making your face brighter, then they are worth adding into your routine. If you use them once a week or whenever you can fit it in or as a treat for a girls night (yes, this is often when I do it most! Shout out to Spa night with my girls) then they are totally worth the extra time.
I hope you guys all have a great beginning of your spring, it’s time according to that little groundhog that came out of its hole! I know I’ll have a great one with spring break coming up in two weeks. However, Oregon where is that sun we need it!! Let me know if you guys use these products and/or if you’re on the bandwagon of this these trends.
XX Love, Mc Kenzie
