My Guide To a Quick Morning Makeup Look

Let’s all face this fact together. We are not all going to do a full face, glam look every morning of our lives and if you do then power to you, I look up to your make up dedication. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good full-face look and do rock it often. I’m one of those weird people that actually enjoys the process of putting on make up, its my me time BUT even I know I don’t have the time and dedication every morning to use all 25+ makeup items in my drawer. This means that I have in my mind come up with a pretty good routine of a quick, easy make up look. Especially going into my second year of college I said “screw it” to always looking like I woke up with a perfect foundation, bronzed face. I now only have that look 1/4th of the time; I never claimed to be perfect OKAY?

I start out with taking my Nars radiant creamy concealer (shade Vanilla) that matches the skin tone of my face and applying it on any pimples or red spots that decided to join me that morning. I just use my finger to blend that into my skin because I feel like it adds more coverage to those spots than using a beauty blender would. Next, I use the slightly lighter Nars concealer (shade Chantilly) I have (if you just have the skin tone one use that) and I put just a dot under my eye, the part closest to my nose. I use my finger again to blend that in. Can’t have dark circles!! I love to create the elusion that I do in fact get enough sleep as a full time college girl (LOL, all college students laughing collected at that statement).

This next step I don’t always do, it depends if my skin looks especially bad or if I have enough time to do it. I’ll take my Mac Studio Fix powder (shade NC20) and my Morphe powder brush and just put it all over my face and neck. Then I will take my Hoola Benefit bronzer and swirl my brush in that and tap some of it off so I don’t look to bronzed. I put that all over my face and neck just because I feel like a tan face on me looks the best. Lastly, this happens 30% of the time but I’ll take a slightly darker bronzer (Mac Mineralize Skinfinish, shade Dark Golden) and put some on my cheekbones and my halo (the part of forehead closest to hair line). This is the most important step if you end up using powder in this look. BLEND. Take a huge brush like the huge Morphe brush and buff out your face. You don’t want any harsh lines because this is meant to look more like a natural face.

Lastly, we take our eyelash curler and give those lashes a good squeeze. Then, I put my Too Face Better Than Sex mascara on and call it good. The optional step I will sometimes add is taking my Stila liquid eye shadow in the shade grace and putting a little in the middle of each eye lid and smudging it out with my finger.

And there you have it folks, the look I have successfully done in 5 minutes. Like I said though the powder steps and the eye shadow steps are optional! When I feel really lazy I just do the mascara and the concealer (which coincidentally is all I have on right now while I write this post). I’d like to wish you all a good spring term and a good time executing this quick and easy make up look!! Live Love my 8:30am class this term and many mornings using this look!!

XX Love, Mc Kenzie

Also, for those wondering what brushes I used I did not have the exact names of them because they came in the Morphe 12 Piece Beautiful and Bronze Set, Set 503. That will be linked.
